I had to jump on the smash burger taco trend, but I made it my way, and it didn’t disappoint. So delicious and so easy to make. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. Ground beef
- 1 small onion chopped
- 2 tbs avocado oil
- 1 tbs ranch seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- American and mozzarella cheese
- Avocado oil spray
- 6 Flour tortilla
- Toppings: lettuce, pickles, peperoncini, homemade ranch dressing, homemade guacamole
Instructions
- Sauté the onions in 2 tablespoons of avocado oil until translucent, let cool add to 1 pound of ground beef plus 1 tablespoon of ranch seasoning, salt and black pepper. Mix well.
- Spread the meat evenly on the tortilla.
- Spray a non-stick frying pan with the avocado spray, once heated place the tortilla face down place a weight on to, let the meat cook (you will know it’s done once the edges of the tortilla are golden) flip back and let the tortilla crisp on the bottom, top with your preferred cheese and place on a baking sheet.
- Once done with all your tacos, pop under the broiler let the cheese melt.
- Top the smash burger taco with guacamole, lettuce, pickles, peperoncini and homemade ranch dressing.
Notes
- I’ve seen a lot of people put the cheese on the smash burger and cover it with a lid to let the cheese melt while the tortilla is browning . I have to tell you I tried that several times, and you always end up with a chard tortilla that tastes bitter, so that’s why I recommend doing it under the broiler.
