Amar Deen ~ قمر دين is my husband’s favorite drink, a very refreshing one made from apricot paste, or leather. It’s very famous in the Levant region, especially during Ramadan, easy to make, and can even be used to make a light dessert. So if you love apricots, you’re in for a treat!
Ingredients
- 🧡 1 package dried apricot paste
- 🧡 1/2 cup sugar
- 🧡 32 oz. Water + 1/2 cup
- 🧡 2 cups ice cubes
- 🧡 2 tbs Rose water
- 🧡 2 caps full Orange blossom water
Instructions
- Start by unwrapping 1 package of dried apricot paste and rinse quickly under cold water, making sure no cellophane is stuck to the paste.
- Cut into pieces. Using kitchen scissors makes it much easier and place in a pot with water. Cook uncovered on low to medium until tender. Take of the heat and let cool.
- Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend away until smooth. Now if you think it’s too thick add the extra 1/2 cup water, I did! It’s all a preference and if you want to add more 1/2 cup of sugar go a head 🧡.
- Pour the drink in a glass jar or carafe chill and enjoy!
- Don’t forget to stir every time!!
