
This recipe for Poached Quinces with Cream feels fitting for the occasion. May all your days be filled with love from everyone around you. (Although we donโt celebrate here in the USA until May, you can still save this recipe.) I want to share with you this beautiful, light after-dinner dessert, easy to make, delicious, and beautifully presented. Itโs sure to impress anyone at your table.
Ingredients
- ๐ 4-6 Quinces
- ๐ 1 lemon sliced
- ๐ about 3/4 cup maple syrup or molasses
- ๐ 1 cinnamon stick
- ๐ 3 whole cloves
- ๐ bowl with water plus 1 cup
- ๐ sour cream or whipping cream
- ๐ honey
- ๐ pistachio and rose petal for garnish
- 1- start by slicing the lemon and placing it in the bowl of water
Instructions
- 2- peel the Quinces cut in half and core. Place the quinces in the bowl of water while youโre working with them, let sit for 5 minutes.
- 3- get a shallow pan with a cover that is oven proof. I used, place 1 cinnamon stick in the center and start arranging the quinces in a single layer, start brushing the quinces with the maple syrup, add 3 cloves and one cup of water.
- 4- place the pan on the stove top, wait for the water to boil, cover and turn down to low Let cook for 30 minutes.
- 5- turn your oven to 350 degrees and finish baking in the oven for another 25 minutes or until the quinces are soft ( if you feel it needs a little bit more water add some ). Making sure that the last 10 minutes you uncover the pan.
- 6- mix sour cream and honey together and place in the center of each half, sprinkle with pistachio and rose petals, drizzle with honey and enjoy!
