  • 1 pack of frozen puff pastry squares thawed
  • 2 cups frozen blueberries rinsed
  • 1 tbs cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 package cream cheese room temperature
  • (8 ounce)
  • 2 tbs orange blossom water (optional)
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Powder sugar
  • sprinkles (optional)
  • Egg wash: 1 egg, 1 tsp heavy cream, splash of vanilla extract
  • Makes a dozen~12 pieces

Instructions

  1. In a medium pot add blueberries, sugar, water, and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Give it a stir, cook on medium heat until thickened and set aside to cool.
  2. In a bowl cream the cream cheese with sugar, orange blossom and the zest of 1 lemon. Fold in the blueberry mixture ( mine was still a bit warm so I let it rest in the fridge for 10 minutes after folding the cream cheese).
  3. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper,.
  5. Fill the puff pastry square with enough filling making sure not to over fill, press all around to close the pocket then with the back of a fork press all around to ensure sealing, with a knife make 2 slits on top and brush with the egg wash.
  6. I had some purple sprinkles so I decided to sprinkle some ( you don’t have to ).
  7. Bake on the medium shelf for 35 minutes.
  8. Take out let cool sprinkle with powder sugar and enjoy πŸ˜—πŸ’œ.

Notes

  • If the puff pastry starts to warm while working with it, pop it in the fridge for 20 minutes before baking.
