Ingredients
- 1 pack of frozen puff pastry squares thawed
- 2 cups frozen blueberries rinsed
- 1 tbs cornstarch
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 package cream cheese room temperature
- (8 ounce)
- 2 tbs orange blossom water (optional)
- 1 tbs sugar
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Powder sugar
- sprinkles (optional)
- Egg wash: 1 egg, 1 tsp heavy cream, splash of vanilla extract
- Makes a dozen~12 pieces
Instructions
- In a medium pot add blueberries, sugar, water, and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Give it a stir, cook on medium heat until thickened and set aside to cool.
- In a bowl cream the cream cheese with sugar, orange blossom and the zest of 1 lemon. Fold in the blueberry mixture ( mine was still a bit warm so I let it rest in the fridge for 10 minutes after folding the cream cheese).
- Preheat oven to 375 F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper,.
- Fill the puff pastry square with enough filling making sure not to over fill, press all around to close the pocket then with the back of a fork press all around to ensure sealing, with a knife make 2 slits on top and brush with the egg wash.
- I had some purple sprinkles so I decided to sprinkle some ( you donβt have to ).
- Bake on the medium shelf for 35 minutes.
- Take out let cool sprinkle with powder sugar and enjoy ππ.
Notes
- If the puff pastry starts to warm while working with it, pop it in the fridge for 20 minutes before baking.
