Puff Pastry Sheet and Some Ground Beef

Puff Pastry Sheet and Some Ground Beef

If there is one thing I have learned in the kitchen, it is to keep recipes like Puff Pastry Sheet and Some Ground Beef close at hand. I love a main course with enough character to carry the whole meal. I would serve it without too much ceremony and let the food speak for itself.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 10 ounce ground beef
  • 1 tbs. Shredded dry onions
  • 1/2 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. 7 spices
  • 1/8 tsp. Ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. Crushed hot pepper paste
  • 1 tsp. Tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp. Ghee
  • Salt
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Sumac, plain yogurt and pomegranate molasses for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. Mix the ground beef with the listed ingredients.
  3. Spread the ground beef between two sheets of parchment paper using a rolling pin to match the size of the puff pastry leaving 1 inch in.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry, turn the beef on top then start rolling, I rolled it from the bottom up I would roll lengthwise starting from the side next time, simply because it would be as thick.
  5. Using a sharp knife cut cut the ends off then cut into pinwheels (bake the ends too you can munch on them).
  6. Brush a large muffin pan with olive oil then place the pinwheels then brush the top with olive oil, place on a baking sheet while baking (if you don’t have one no worries place on a parchment lined baking sheet making sure not to crowd then brush with Olive oil).
  7. Bake on the middle rack of the oven for 45 minutes or until golden.
  8. Sprinkle with sumac and enjoy with yogurt and pomegranate molasses.
