If you ever travel to the Middle East and ask for a cocktail, chances are you’re not getting what you think of. Instead, you’ll be treated to this nutrient-dense drink, chunks of different fruits topped with ripples of blended fruit, then finished with Ashta (Arabic clotted cream) and blanched nuts. What could be tastier? I hope you get to try it and enjoy it as much as my husband and I do 🙂
Ingredients
- 1 mango
- 2 bananas
- 1 avocado
- Strawberries
- 1 Orange
- Milk of choice
- Honey
- Blanched almonds and cashews
- 2 servings
Instructions
- First start by blanching the nuts separately add hot boiling water to the almonds cover and let soak for 30 minutes before peeling the skin off as for the cashews just soak in regular hot tap water until soft.
- Fill the bottom of the cups with any chunks of fruits you have on hand. I used 1 banana, 1/2 the mango, strawberries and blueberries then divide the juice from one orange between both cups.
- For the first layer blend the second half of the mango with half a banana some milk and honey.
- For the second layer blend a whole 1 avocado with the second half of the banana, milk and honey.
- For the third layer simply blend strawberries with honey. Top with Ashta and the blanched nuts and enjoy.
