I see people trying to reinvent hummus all the time, and I don’t know why, it’s so simple to make. Let me tell you, the secret is all in the topping! I present to you the creamiest hummus recipe you’ll ever come across. I hope you get to try it.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked garbanzo beans
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/2 tsp citric acid
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cubes of ice
- 1/3 cup hummus water
- 1 tbs olive oil
Sauce
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 – 1 jalapeño
- Pinch of salt
- Juice of a 1/2 lemon
Instructions
- Soak the garbanzo beans over night. Rinse the next morning, add to a big pot, fill with lots of water and start boiling on high. You will notice white foam starting to form. Scoop all the foam cover and cook on low for about 2 hours. Once the beans come to room temperature add all the ingredients to a blender and blend away stirring in between. Add to a plate and decorate as you wish.
- For the sauce smash everything together add the lemon juice and enjoy on top of the hummus.
- As you can see I soak a lot of garbanzo beans I never measure because I use part of it to make falafel ( refer to falafel recipe) from last weekend, and for the rest of the cooked garbanzo beans, I portion them and save in the freezer for when ever I need it.
