Homemade Grape Molasses ~ Debes Enab

Homemade Grape Molasses ~ Debes Enab

My recipe box will always have room for food that feels thoughtful and inviting, and Homemade Grape Molasses ~ Debes Enab earns its place. I would set this in the middle of the table and let everyone help themselves. It is especially handy for days when I want something straightforward without settling for dull.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. If you’ve never had homemade grape molasses you’re in for a treat. You can enjoy it with pure tahini, so delicious or top it on cream cheese and crackers also in salad dressing. I’m telling you the uses of molasses are limitless, and all you need is grapes 🍇 it’s that easy 😃. Now that it’s almost the end of the season it’s the perfect time because you need sweet ripe grapes.
  2. Start by washing 5 lb grapes you can mix white and red, make sure they’re totally clean from dirt. Remove all the stems and place in a blender and blend away until smooth. Place a strainer over a bowl or the pot that you will cook the grape juice in!
  3. (I prefer a stainless steel pot). Start cooking on high to start a boil, keep watching it because this is really critical. You will notice a lot of foam developing, you will have to skim that foam until there’s non left while cooking on low. Keep cooking on low for 1-2 hours or until it reduces and becomes this. You can use the back of the spoon method if it sticks then your good.
  4. Wait until it cools and fill in an air tight jar. Enjoy!
  5. .

Notes

  • I used seedless grapes 🍇. If using with seeds you CANNOT use the blender because blending the seeds will result in a bitter taste. So the best way is the old fashioned way (if you remember the episode with Lucy and the grapes, where she had to mash them with her feet 😅) but no worries you don’t have to do that just your hands to bruise and smash the grapes.
