
If you love pecan pie, you’re in for a treat with these bars, so much easier, perfect for Thanksgiving dinner.
Ingredients
Crust
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powder sugar
- 1/4 tsp. Fine sea salt
- 12 tbs. Cold unsalted butter (diced)
Filling
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 12 tbs. Unsalted Butter
- 1/4 cup cream
- 1/4 tsp. Fine sea salt
- 1 tsp. Vanilla extract
- 3 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper.
- Add all the crust ingredients to a food processor and pulse about 10 times. It will look like sand with tiny pieces of butter, press the crust evenly to the bottom of the pan and some to the side. Bake for 18 minutes or until the edges are golden, once baked set aside.
- For the filling add all the ingredients except for the pecans to a large pot, bring to a boil then simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat add the pecans and stir well until incorporated.
- Spread the filling on top of the crust evenly and bake 20-22 minutes until the top is bubbling and looks like caramel.
- Let come to room temperature before removing from the pan and then let cool completely before before cutting into squares.
- Makes 24 squares, enjoy.
