If there is one thing I have learned in the kitchen, it is to keep recipes like Puff Pastry Sheet and Some Ground Beef close at hand. I love a main course with enough character to carry the whole meal. I would serve it without too much ceremony and let the food speak for itself.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 10 ounce ground beef
- 1 tbs. Shredded dry onions
- 1/2 tsp. Garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. 7 spices
- 1/8 tsp. Ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. Crushed hot pepper paste
- 1 tsp. Tomato paste
- 1/2 tsp. Ghee
- Salt
- Olive oil for brushing
- Sumac, plain yogurt and pomegranate molasses for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Mix the ground beef with the listed ingredients.
- Spread the ground beef between two sheets of parchment paper using a rolling pin to match the size of the puff pastry leaving 1 inch in.
- Roll out the puff pastry, turn the beef on top then start rolling, I rolled it from the bottom up I would roll lengthwise starting from the side next time, simply because it would be as thick.
- Using a sharp knife cut cut the ends off then cut into pinwheels (bake the ends too you can munch on them).
- Brush a large muffin pan with olive oil then place the pinwheels then brush the top with olive oil, place on a baking sheet while baking (if you don’t have one no worries place on a parchment lined baking sheet making sure not to crowd then brush with Olive oil).
- Bake on the middle rack of the oven for 45 minutes or until golden.
- Sprinkle with sumac and enjoy with yogurt and pomegranate molasses.
