Banana Pudding

Banana Pudding

Every cook needs a few recipes that make the table feel cared for, and Banana Pudding is a delicious place to begin. A dessert like this is exactly why I always save room for something sweet. Keep this one close for the days when time is short but a good meal still matters.

Ingredients

  • 2 envelopes dream whip
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 8 ounce cream cheese, room temperature
  • 14 ounce can condensed milk
  • 5 ounce instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups milk
  • 11 ounce box vanilla wafers
  • 5-7 bananas peeled and sliced
  • If you can’t find dream whip substitute with 8 ounce whipped topping, omit 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Whip the dream whip powder, milk and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Place in the fridge until ready to use.
  2. In a large bowl beat 8 ounces of cream cheese until creamy, add the condensed milk, vanilla instant pudding and milk beat until thickened ( 4 minutes) add half of the dream whip and stir until incorporated.
  3. In a trifle dish or any deep round dish you will start layering dividing evenly thing in 1/3.
  4. Start with a layer of the vanilla wafers then top with 5-7 sliced bananas, after with the cream. Continue until you have 3 layers.
  5. Top with the rest of the dream whip.
  6. Cover with a plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 24- 48 hours to set and for the wafers to soften.
  7. I like to crumble some wafers and use for topping with caramel sauce.
