Hashweh (Middle Eastern Meat Filling)

I have to make this easy one-pan dish. I just crack eggs on it, and it couldn’t be more satisfying. It’s perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner (save this one for Ramadan, it’s great for suhoor).

Ingredients

  • Olive oil
  • Hashweh
  • Eggs
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Aleppo pepper
  • Parsley

Meat filling

  • 1 pound coarse ground beef
  • 2 tbs. Vegetable oil
  • 2 cups onion, medium chop
  • 1/2 tsp. Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. 7 spice
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Cumin
  • 1/4 tsp. Cardamom
  • 1/4 cup fried slivered almonds or pine nuts

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil add 1 cup meat filling and cook for 30 seconds, crack the eggs top with the spices mentioned and parsley once the whites set pop under the broiler and cook very quickly don’t over dry your eggs.
