Ahlan wa sahlan, I’m Mirvat!
I’m a Palestinian home cook sharing the dishes that raised me, the recipes I’ve gathered along the way, and all the good things I make for the people I love.
At its heart, this blog is a family archive disguised as a recipe site: the dishes of a Palestinian kitchen, written down before they can be forgotten, and shared so they can travel. Many of these recipes carry a place with them, from Nablus to Gaza to Yafa to Tulkarm, because Palestinian food is a map as much as a cuisine. I cook from the olive harvest, from spring grape leaves, from the spice drawer my grandmother kept, and I write the stories down along with the measurements.
But my kitchen is always growing. Travel introduces me to new ingredients, traditions, and ways of cooking, while curiosity keeps me experimenting and creating something unexpected. So you’ll find much more than Palestinian food here: recipes inspired by places I’ve visited, people I’ve met, and flavors I’m still learning to understand.
This is where heritage meets discovery. A generous table filled with treasured family dishes, new ideas, and recipes meant to be cooked, shared, and made your own.
